Chittagong is Bangladesh's second most populous district, with just over 9.17 million people at the 2022 census, and home to Chattogram Port, the country's main seaport. It is also the single biggest source of Bangladeshi workers going overseas: BMET recorded roughly 411,000 Chittagong residents leaving for overseas jobs in 2022, more than Dhaka. Study-abroad demand is newer here and growing alongside that older migration pattern. We run Chittagong files the same way we run any district outside Sylhet: entirely on WhatsApp, with document preparation at our Zindabazar office and the UK side handled by our London office.
How to study abroad from Chittagong
Reviewed June 2026Chittagong files are run remotely from our Sylhet office and WhatsApp, the same as any district outside Sylhet itself. The difference is Chittagong's own visa infrastructure: Canada and Italy both run a visa application centre in Agrabad, so those two routes don't need a trip to Dhaka. UK, USA and Australia applications still route through Dhaka for biometrics, and Umrah pilgrims fly nonstop from Chittagong's own airport to Jeddah or Medina.

What is different about a Chittagong application.
Unlike most of Bangladesh, Chittagong has its own visa application centre at the World Trade Centre, Agrabad, serving Canada and Italy. Applicants for these two countries don't need to travel to Dhaka for biometrics.
These remain Dhaka-routed for Chittagong applicants, the same as most of the country outside Sylhet. We confirm the exact centre and brief you on documents before you travel.
Chittagong's Shah Amanat International Airport runs direct Biman flights to Jeddah and Medina - no connection through Dhaka needed, which is unusual for a Bangladeshi regional airport.
